Simple For The Win

I'm a detailed person...sometimes to a fault.  I like more data, more planning, more resources.  But sometimes, that can hinder my progress.  Sometimes, things just need to be simple.  That is true in many areas of life, health being one of them.

Want to feel better than you ever have?  Want to be healthier than 99% of the population?  Simple...do three things:

1. Walk...at least 10,000 steps per day

2. Lift heavy things...a few times per week

3. Sleep at least seven hours per night

That's it.  Really!

How is that everything?  Well, it turns out that we could all use more good habits.  But research has shown that starting good habits is easiest when we change our identity.  So as you start with the habits listed above, you'll begin to think of yourself as a healthy person.  Then, when you're faced with a huge bowl of ice cream (Blue Bell is awesome), you'll ask yourself what a healthy person would do.  Your chances of eating healthier will greatly increase. And the cycle will continue.

Want to be a better leader? Want to get more done?  Want to have a happier and healthier team?

1. Set Goals - what are your top 3 priorities, where are you the bottleneck, who needs help?

2. Have a weekly meeting with your team - increases team health, communication, execution, and accountability

3. Do what you say - hold yourself accountable and execute...then measure results

So, get started.  You don't have to be great to get started, but you have to get started to be great.
